Milking machines waiting to be cleaned

The business end of the milk tanker

More Blitz

Just a little reminder, that after the milk truck picks up the milk, somebody had sure better turn on the compressor for the cooler next time we milk (guess whose job that is...)

Cow notes

Somebody should sweep the dust out of this fan!

Awwwww . . I wonder.

When I see the straw and furry little big-eyed cow - I just feel so sensory deprived.

I guess I'm asking: do you get so used to it that it loses its charm?

Trust me. I know it's hard, hard work. Does the drudgery and tedium outweigh the sweet stuff?

I know we city slickers don't have a clue as to what on-the-ground life is like for producers like you and your family.

Cathy, sometimes it does. Sometimes we get so discouraged when things break and we can't afford to fix or replace them. When animals die despite all our efforts, when we have to work sick...however for the most part it is a never ending story full of interesting chapters. We love the outdoors, the animals, the growing of things, the land. Like any beloved sometimes things are better than others. I know despite the lowest prices in decades and adversity that is becoming ridiculous none of us wants to give it up. We only will if we have to.

Oh, honey - as I scroll through your blogs and the recording of all the beauty and struggle and richness - I know that whatever comes, you, your husband and children will have counted yourselves blessed.

May you always have the view at Northview.

Thanks Cathy, our son last night gave me the amazing and in some ways distressing news that he wants to finish his associates in Fisheries and Wildlife and switch to Dairy Science. Heartbreaking on one hand...such a hard job, but still
