The Spider Photos

That greenish thing is a wash cloth covering a normal sized round faucet control. That is Alan's hand with a piece of chalk for size reference. This thing is the biggest spider I have ever seen outside a tarantula tank in a pet store....I don't general mind spiders except for the biting aspect, but this one had me shivering.

It sure is a big one!

Sure is a big one.......I wonder what kind. It's still better than a snake. I love the water lily pics on your other blog.....better than the spider;)

Yep, she needs to Move On. A stern lecture on hanging out at the water cooler and stormtrooper tactics like removal of any hint of a food larder should cause her to seek more, shall we say, copacetic surroundings.

Cool! Perhaps it figured hunting was better near the watering hole...just like the dessert.

Wow, she is big! I Googled a little this morning to see if I could figure out what she is, but no dice.

Dani, experts tell me they run bigger down your way, but it was the biggest one I had ever seen. I am hoping not to see it again and deleting the photos from my hard drive. lol

Linda, sources say either a barn or fishing spider. Sure is a big beast. And thanks for your kind words. Lots of lily blossoms this year!

Wil, I don't know what she is eating but I lean toward cannibalization of her own kids. there isn't much else in the milk house to eat.

Joated, could be. She could move along and my feelings wouldn't be hurt

Jan I am hoping (and praying even) that she didn't find any of those in the milk house. Maybe a few stable flies or a moth or two...or more likely a buffet of her own offspring. We have to keep things kind of fussy in there because of the inspector. Of course she may have come in from outdoors rather than being a homegrown product, in which case she could have eaten almost anything and I am grateful for it. I don't really mind spiders that much. She is just such a dramatic critter. lol

Rebecca, two opinions from experts and folks with references...either a fishing spider or a barn spider. She is a big one

June, thanks for looking. I am no spider aficionado so I have no clue, other than what readers have discovered, barn or fishing spider. I just go with big spider that I don't want to meet in a dark alley. lol.

Jeffro, exactly!
